Klaus Rajewsky Stiftung

Founded to maximize revenues for public research

Prof. Klaus Rajewsky has created the Klaus Rajewsky Stiftung to market more than 50 transgenic mice proprietary to Rajewsky. The Klaus Rajewsky Stiftung is managed by Ascenion, a German IP asset management agency, which is responsible for the administration and commercialisation. For-profit users can license these animal models through Ascenion. Their license fees, however, go to the Klaus Rajewsky Stiftung which then makes these tax-free funds available to research programmes, mainly at the Institute for Genetics of the University of Cologne and at the CBR Institute for Biomedical Research in Boston. Researchers in universities and public research institutes may continue to use the animal models without a licence.
